Training/Years of Experience/Special Certification:
I have been passionate about the hair industry since 1999. I have worked in all facets of salon life, previously owning 2 "zen" salons and taken part of apprenticing 3 successful, talented stylists. I have a zest for education and have taken all sorts of advanced education from some of the industry's top professionals like DevaCurl, Redken, and Paul Mitchell just to name a few. My love of all things Schwarzkopf led me to an amazing opportunity to educate for them and was truly a heartfelt experience.
What is Your Favorite Thing about being a Stylist?
I am one of those fortunate people that found what I loved doing early on in life. While sitting and waiting for my Mom to finish work as a massage therapist at a local salon, I would sit and watch the stylists. They were having so much fun! It didn't seem like work. They were there because they loved our craft and the bonds it creates. Making people feel good about themselves and build confidence all while connecting and sharing in life's moments is my favorite thing about our craft. What is something unique that you would like the clients to know about you?
What is your favorite tip/hair secret you would like to share with clients?
I have been called an "old soul" my entire life and feel I have a pretty good read on people. I like to give new guests a little quiz to get to know them better and I ask a ton of questions. I love
pictures! Whether it is a way back when, current trend or just an inspiration, I will give you my honest opinion. I am always willing to listen, advise and share my thoughts on a hairstyle that
perpetuates balance in lifestyle.
My secret is....wait for it..... less is more! Stop touching it so much all day. The more you learn to work with your natural movement the more you can play! Have fun with color, try new things but let it rest in between major changes. It is all about balance. @lifestylehairdressingbymia
