Training/Years of Experience/Special Certification:
I received my extensive training under the leadership of David, the owner of JonDavid, over a period of 10 years. I started out as a shampoo assistant and then worked the following 5 years as a personal assistant of David followed by an additional 2 under several other Master stylists’ at JonDavid. Now I am working as a junior hairstylist and have been for the past two years. In addition, over the last 7 years, I received my cosmetology license and attend classes in technique and color by Schwarzkopf, as well as seminars at hair shows on the East Coast to keep up with the latest techniques and hair styles. My specialties are styling, color and foil highlights, and finishing styling the hair.
What is your favorite thing about being a stylist?
My favorite part of the job, especially with clients who already have a vision of what they would like, is to build enough trust so that they feel comfortable giving me the creation freedom to take their initial vision and allow me to build on that by instilling my experience, creativity, and technique resulting in a style that not only exceeds their expectations, but also puts a big smile on their face.
What is something unique that you would like the clients to know about you?
I not only consider myself to be a good listener, but even more importantly, I also learned to ask the right questions, thereby ensuring that my client and I are on the same page. This is critical in creating the best hairstyle and/or color, that bother my client and I agree would best suit your image and needs.
What is your favorite tip/ hair secret you would like to share with clients?
Through my many, many years as a hairstyle assistant, working with all possible types of hair, I refined the art of hair drying to a perfect and very practical science. All you need is two clips, a good brush and a hair dryer, and I will show an easy technique to blow-dry your hair that is not only the quickest but also will give you the results you love.
